Roy Valentín - Crónica // Loocila - Cóclea

Two of my best friends just released their debut solo albums, which not only have similar names, were released on consecutive days, and have the most amazing and minimal cover arts of the year; they’re also pretty awesome.

I’m so happy I get to have really talented friends, and I’m proud of them. You can download them both for free, so check them out when you have some time.

The cool dudes at Mirror Universe Tapes recently reissued on cassette the great Foot Village album called Fuck The Future II. And guess what? It features the remix I made of their track Lovers With Iraqis as a bonus track! Got my copy last week and it sounds great and looks beautiful.

Grab a copy at the label’s website or at Deathbomb Arc.

La Vitrola: Algodón Egipcio - La Repetición, La Repetición

This is the fourth and last video from the session I recorded with La Vitrola, in Chile. This is a song I never play on my shows, and since it was created on the acoustic guitar, it was a perfect time to do it. This was filmed on my friend Fakuta's living room.

La Vitrola: Algodón Egipcio - La Transformación

The third video from my session with La Vitrola, in Chile. Had to borrow a sweater ‘cause it was cold as hell. You can catch me doing a bit of The Smashing Pumpkins’ Stumbleine right at the beginning :)

La Vitrola: Algodón Egipcio - La Condición (La Prueba A) + Los Asuntos Pendientes (La Prueba B)

Here’s the second video from the session I recorded in Santiago with they guys from La Vitrola. These two songs are like sisters, and I really enjoy playing them together on the guitar. I think it turned out very pretty.

La Vitrola: Algodón Egipcio - El Día Previo

I recorded a couple of acoustic versions of songs from my first album, La Lucha Constante, with the guys from La Vitrola on my visit to Santiago de Chile, in November last year.

This is the first video they released, it’s “El Día Previo”. That guitar wouldn’t stay in tune, so try to get past that haha. This was in front of a cool zebra wall, on Barrio Italia.

NEW COLLABORATION: Uvilov - Haciendo amigos en el desierto (feat. Algodón Egipcio)

Hey everyone! Been quiet for awhile ‘cause I’m working on new music, but I’m taking a quick break to share this new collaboration with you. My friends of Uvilov, from Monterrey, Mexico, just released their new album called El Desprendimiento (which is pretty great), and I contributed with vocals, guitars and synths on this song called “Haciendo amigos en el desierto” (“Making Friends in the Desert”). I think it turned out awesome, check it out. And check out the rest of the album as well HERE!

I finally saw Mosquita y Mari, a movie directed by Aurora Guerrero. It was premiered at Sundance last year and was nominated for an Independent Spirit Award. But the best part for me is that it features my song El Día Previo on one of the scenes, which is really awesome.
